We

The identity of we is interesting. I just read somewhere, forgot where, that when people find new perspective, they sometimes find now identity. That means people find themselves in a new "We". When Marxist theory comes along, a European factory worker felt a connection with a Worker in China. When most Europeans got converted to Christianity, a Byzantine's cry for help would move the whole Europe, even though, there's not much tie in blood, history, cultures.

How to form a new identity should be a good question for inquiry. There must be something people can feel by their heart. It should be something that could be disturbed. Something that could disturbed may be an illusion, but it may also be a great and real cause. If the new identity was formed under an illusion, people will wake up one day and resolve to things that matters most to life. It is incredibly hard to face the fact that their youth were wasted in a lie. Although lie it may be, it is also their youth. And they will cherish it with a paradoxical feeling. It would be the embodiment powerlessness, guilt, and hatred. Escape is the only route, and escape towards the physical desire, material enjoyment was an easy route.

Identity is not easy to come by. Once it came, it is hard to shake off. Identity could be formed in an illusion, but it could also be an illusion if people pretends they have the identity.
